[...] If you’re a sucker for pop-punk (and I know you are), then you probably loved The Gamits, the under-appreciated young, scrappy punks who broke up way too soon. Alas, there is hope! Chris Fogal, frontman of the group, has started a new project titled On High, featuring members of Drag the River/Love Me Destroyer/Rocky Votolato, Uphollow/Ian Cooke, Grace Like Gravity/Sleeper Horse. The group’s debut album will be put out by Suburban Home Records around March or April of next year. The group’s sound does stray from Fogal’s pop-punk background and has “more in common with Black Sabbath or Metallica’s “Master Of Puppets” than anything the Gamits ever did.” If you want to hear Fogal and Suburban Home Records founder Virgil Dickerson discuss the project, check out the recorded phone interview between the two right here. If you want some tunes, download On High’s 3 song demo right here.
