Punk Rock Flea Market - 8.5 x 11 flier (pdf file)

Much like we did with Ghost Buffalo’s album, we are offering the first 200 people to download Jr. Juggernaut’s debut album for FREE! All you have to do is go to this Yousendit link and download the album. Once 200 downloads happen, the link will expire.
“Ghost Poison” is now in stores and we realize that in 2008, you need to give new albums a sample before you consider purchasing it. We also understand that once downloaded, it is not out question that you might burn a copy of the album or forward the downloaded album to your friends. All that we ask is that if you can please pass along that if someone digs the album, please consider picking it up legally. Suburban Home and our bands count on sales of the album for our livelihood.
You can by the album on CD directly from us by following this link:
JR. JUGGERNAUT “Ghost Poison” CD
If checking out the album for free hasn’t peaked your interest, read the following review from Babysue/LMNOP:
Rootsy American pop/rock with guts. This is the first full-length release from this Los Angeles, California-based trio…and it cooks. Instead of dressing up like freaks and tossing out studio effects for their listeners to gobble up, these guys keep things simple and deliver their songs without unnecessary fanfare. Jr. Juggernaut is Mike Williamson (vocals, guitars), Kevin Keller (bass, vocals), and Waleed Rashidi (drums, vocals). The best way we could describe this band’s sound is to say that they sound something like Bob Mould fronting an Americana band. It is interesting to note the extreme commercial potential here. Instead of churning out noisy rock that could only appeal to young fans, these guys write hit songs. All ten of the tracks on Ghost Poison sound very much like major hits. Songs are what make this album such a thoroughly pleasing experience. Killer cuts include “Lit By Winter,” “Believe in Something” (a really great cut), “Wailing West,” and “The Beehive.” (Rating: 5)
If the review still hasn’t grabbed you, check out these 19 questions asked of Mike Williamson, the band’s frontman by our very own Andy Thomas. He elaborates on such questions as Cash or Dylan, Greatest song ever, thoughts on Insane Clown Posse, and more. Check this out here.
“Ghost Poison” is a kick ass rock record and we really want people to hear it. If you like what you hear, remember you can order the album from us as part of our 5 for $25 or 10 for $50 sales:
Suburban Home Pick 10 for $50 Sale (CDs, Pint Glasses)
Suburban Home Pick 5 for $25 Sale (CDs, Pint Glasses)
You can also find it in most mom and pop retailers. We truly love this album and know you will too if you give it a good listen.

So we not only survived out trip to Salt Lake City, but we had an absolute blast. Only Thunder were kind enough to let me travel with them and to allow us to pick up a bunch of crap from IKEA for our new offices. Here is a quick recap:
- A 30 pack of PBR on our way to Grand Junction and the Vinyl Collective beer cozies, I guess you can say we tested them out to make sure they did in fact keep beer cold.
- We collectively made an on the go playlist on Justin’s IPOD which included Portugal the Man, Small Brown Bike, Paula Abdul, Minus the Bear, Shellac, Michael Jackson, The Playing Favorites, Jawbreaker, and much much more.
- Our good friends at No Coast Sushi took care of Ghost Buffalo and myself and at one point, all of the Sushi Chef’s took me back into their freezer to shotgun a PBR. Man, I hadn’t shotgunned a beer in so long.
- Both Only Thunder and Ghost Buffalo rocked it, but unfortunately, the attendance was pretty small. I told Ghost Buffalo that I would dance on stage if they played “Bones”. Right when they started playing the song, I got up and did my Elaine dance from Seinfeld.
- After the the show, the venue had a DJ afterparty where we all rocked it. The moment the DJ played “Ace of Spades”, we were singing along wielding our air guitars and rocking out. So much fun.
- On the way back to the hotel, we stopped by a gas station where the Beef Jerkey was calling my name.
- Went to a kick ass breakfast buffet in the morning before heading out to Salt Lake.
- Made it to Burt’s Tiki Lounge where they were having a BBQ so we rocked burgers, pasta salad, dogs, and more.
- Started drinking 3.2 beer and 1 ounce shots at Burt’s which is what bars in SLC have to serve. Our crew drank them out of all their PBR and even though we drank over a hundred beers between our crew, none of us got drunk.
- Only Thunder rocked it and few of the guys from Gaslight Anthem said they absolutely dug their set.
- Hung out with the Gaslight Anthem dudes who are all super rad. They were not stoked to drive for 24 hours straight after their set to make it to their next show.
- The Gaslight Anthem totally rocked out. Check out a few of Geoff’s videos he took of their set. I highly recommend this one in particular.
- Spoke to the Gaslight dudes about the album they just recorded, they are stoked!
- Said our goodbyes to Burt’s Tiki Lounge which included the promoter and Geoff talking shit to each other (jokingly, but I did not know that at first). The promoter compared Only Thunder to Quicksand and Far, they were stoked.
- Woke up early the next morning, went to IKEA, got our shit, ate some Swedish Meatballs, and hit the road. It was a long drive, but we made it home.
- Geoff farted for 10 hours straight, NOT COOL!
- Pedro at one point grabbed a blanket which happen to have battery acid on it. He was using it as a pillow and after a few minutes, he felt his skin burning. He asked Justin what was on the blanket which Justin answered, “Battery Acid”. Pedro’s skin not only got red, but he started having blisters. I called Poison Control who instructed us to clean the area and to find a shower so he could clean the area further.
- We made the questionable judgement call to get Thai food in the small town of Rawlins, Wyoming, and it was fantastic.
- Made it back to the office, unloaded the furniture, and went home.
The trip was an absolute blast, I miss touring with bands. Make sure you visit Geoff’s blog where he posted a ton of photos from the trip. There are links to each of his posts by day, there are so many great photos.

Tomorrow afternoon, I will be hitting the road with Only Thunder and Ghost Buffalo. We will be hitting Grand Junction, Colorado, and Salt Lake City, Utah. We hatched this scheme so that we could purchase a few more bookshelves and stuff for our office from IKEA. For some damn reason, IKEA still isn’t in Denver which means I will be making my 3rd trip in less than a year. We hatched up this scheme to do a few shows on the way out to SLC in a manner not unlike Kramer and Newman from Seinfeld when hatching their plan to bring recycled bottles to Michigan for the higher deposit. Hopefully our trip will end better than theirs did!
Before the show at the beautiful Mesa Theater in Grand Junction, we will be visiting our good friends Chris and Josh at No Coast Sushi and will be dragging them out to the show after we eat at their delicious restaurant. We always have a blast at the Mesa and hopefully Andy (from Only Thunder and Suburban Home) won’t fall down a set of stairs like he did during the last Gamits show in GJ. We are really stoked to drag Ghost Buffalo out with us and are bummed that we could not get them on the Salt Lake City which should be an amazing show with Gaslight Anthem. Brian from Gaslight was instrumental in getting us on their show. I am so excited to see Gaslight as they are skipping over Denver to meet up with Tim Barry and the Bouncing Souls in Minneapolis.
So we will be bringing plenty of Vinyl Collective Beer Cozies, a copy of the new LaGrecia recording, and we will remember to buy beer in Colorado so we don’t have to drink 3.2 beer which is all Salt Lake seems to have.
So if you live in Grand Junction or Salt Lake City, please come to the show and please say hi. It is always great to meet our friends through music in towns where we don’t know a lot of folks. And expect a few good stories early next week.

Jon Snodgrass has been telling me for a while now (ever since their west coast tour in August/September 2007) that he would make sure that Armchair Martian would play a show in Denver. Almost 8 months later, Jon, Paul, and Miguel are keeping their word and have booked a show at Suburban Home’s favorite bar, 3 Kings Tavern. Joining them for this very special engagement is Colorado Springs’ very own Nobodys who have been looking for a good excuse to get back together and play around. This very special show is Thursday, June 5th. Mark down the date and do not miss this for your life. With Jon and Paul’s busy schedules, it is uncertain whether or not they will be playing again any time soon.
Between this news and All reuniting for Riot Fest, some of my favorite bands will be playing again this summer. If only we can Jawbreaker to add a few dates, this could be the best summer ever!
Straight from Tim Barry’s Myspace Blog, he talks about new songs posted on Myspace, his upcoming tour with Bouncing Souls and Gaslight Anthem, he hints at some mind-blowing news, and the exciting news that his sister Caitlin (fiddle player in his band) is expecting a little one. Congrats Caitlin and thanks for the new tunes and news:
In about 1 week I am going to announce a full on FALL TOUR that’ll blow your minds. I gotta keep it under wraps until all of the kinks are worked out. But I’m excited as hell about it. So check back in and I’ll give you all the dirt.
I’ve been rooted here in Richmond, Va for a couple months. Working and hiding. Building and gardening. Plotting and planning. There is a lot going on these days.
I just put up two NEW SONGS. Both of which will make their way onto my next album, but I wanted to get some new stuff out there before I play the shows I got coming up. On that note, notice the VENUE CHANGE for the CHICAGO show on May 1.
The real big news in my family is that my sister Caitlin is having a kid! I can’t tell you how excited I am to become an Uncle. It’s wonderful to have something like this to look forward to – a new life. Especially considering how my year began. And with that said, I’m sad to announce that (for the time being at least) CAITLIN WILL NOT BE TOURING WITH ME. Nearly all of the shows I have coming up will be solo/acoustic. Just me and a guitar. Josh Small will sit in at some of them.
I’ve got so many plans in the works that it’s hard to articulate. Shows are posted. Tours are in the works. Songs are coming together. It’s all falling into place. A new album will come out when the time is right. The van is running okay. My guitar is still in one piece and my new travel partner Emma (my dog) is ready for the road.
Damn, I can’t wait to hit the highway. Spring gives me itchy feet. Gotta keep moving.

LaGrecia “On Parallels”
I hate to be so bold, but I think that LaGrecia’s “On Parallels” could be the greatest piece of work Jason Shevchuk has ever been involved with. That is not to discount anything Kid Dynamite or None More Black ever did as I love both of those bands, it just says how incredible this new album is. Something truly magical happened when Jason, Dana, and Sal got together and the resulting 11 tracks show so much depth and diversity. There will be some surprises on this album for those of you that have been keeping score. Every day I find a new favorite song and it is really exciting to have this kind of album on Suburban Home/Vinyl Collective. I just can’t wait til everyone else can hear these songs and see exactly what I am talking about.
Stay tuned as we will soon be posting a pre-order for the vinyl, the CD, and we will have a few package deals including t-shirts, a limited edition silk-screen, a pint glass, and some one inch buttons. We love the artwork so much we convinced Sal from LaGrecia to design a really cool silk-screened poster. As with some of our previous releases, we will be offering a full download of the entire album long before the album’s release date of June 24th. For now check out the mp3 for “My Lightning“.
