Will you sign my band? Will you listen to my demo?
We are a very small label and as a result are not always actively signing new bands. We listen to every demo sent to Suburban Home but have yet to sign a band from a demo. I hope that doesn’t discourage you, but I want you to know that just as important as the music is, we try to make sure that we have a good relationship with the bands that we work with. Many of our bands are our closest friends.
Will you distribute my record label’s releases?
We are not actively seeking to distribute new labels. Music distribution is much more difficult now than ever. If you release vinyl, we will gladly carry your records through Vinyl Collective.
Will you advertise in my fanzine/webzine?
We will not advertise in your fanzine if we have never seen an issue of it. And even if we have seen a copy, that doesn’t guarantee that we will advertise in it. Please understand that we are a very small label with a very small advertising budget. If it is financially feasible and it makes sense for us to do it, we will gladly advertise in your magazine.
What is your opinion on downloading/pirating music?
I definitely have mixed feelings about downloading/pirating music. I think it is great that people have the opportunity to listen to new music without having to pay hard-earned money for it. It is a great way to sample bands that you may have heard of and might not normally listen to if you had to purchase the band’s album. The problem for me has to be the fact that fewer people are buying records than ever before and many people download music with no intention of ever buying the actual release. This obviously affects us. As fewer people purchase albums, more and more indie labels will be forced to go out of business and more indie records stores will shut down. A general rule that I would like for everyone to consider: Download all the music you want, but if you like what you hear, please buy it from your local record store. And if the record came out on an indie label, try to support them by purchasing the record. Also, try to buy your albums at mom and pop record stores. Best Buy and Target don’t really need your business.
How can I order your music if I don’t have a credit card?
We still accept mailorder. Just send well concealed cash, money order, or check payable to: Suburban Home and please send the funds to PO Box 40757, Denver, CO 80204. We don’t accept temporary checks. Please include your name, current phone number and address, and a list of the items you want along with the proper payment for those items.
Who handles publicity and radio promotion for Suburban Home?
Southern Lovin handles most of our publicty and college radio. Get int ouch with them through email at tony@noidearecords.com and radio@noidearecords.com. They are badasses!

when you create a playlist in itunes – select all the tracks and under the “sorting” tab, title the “sort album” as the name of the playlist, and under the “options” tab, click the “part of a complilation” check box and select “yes”. easy peasy. that way it doesn’t change the name of the artists or albums, but the playlist stays organized.
oh – i missed a step… after you’ve selected all the tracks, right click and choose “get info”. it’ll ask you if you want to edit multiple artist info… just say yes.
i make a lot of playlists…

Should play the Dover Brick House in Dover, NH. Two Cow Garage gets a lot of play in the bar and they have a great set up for live shows.
