Episode 03 – Virgil Dickerson talks Life, The Universe and The Everything about Suburban Home Records! Plus the debut of a new Arliss Nancy track! [Mostly Harmless Podcast]

My good buddy, Damian, recently interviewed me and the episode is out now. Not only can you hear us talk about the early beginning of Suburban Home and the ups and downs of my small label, Damian has posted tracks by Arliss Nancy and Lenny and the Piss Poor Boys. The Arliss Nancy track is a brand new song from the upcoming album, “Simple Machines”, one that features a cameo from Jon Snodgrass!!

I recommend listening to the beginning (for the Lenny track) and the end (for the Arliss track) and if you are really bored, listen to our interview.

Thanks Damian for taking the time to interview me (a 2nd time, our first interview was a little too drunken) and thanks for your support in Suburban Home and independent music.

Please everyone, take a minute to listen to the podcast and make sure you bookmark the site and/or subscribe to the podcast on Itunes.

Nine Bullets just posted the first review of “I’m Dead, Serious”, the new album by Micah Schnabel. Please take a second to read it.

If you haven’t ordered the new album, you can now through our friends at Shopradiocast. Right now, we just have the CD for sale, but being that it is the holiday shopping season, you can order 2 copies for the price of 1 and get an automatic download of the album. If you select first class shipping, you will more than likely get the albums in time for Xmas. Get one for yourself and give one to a friend. Hell, keep the digital, and give 2 copies as gifts.

We weren’t planning on releasing Micah’s new album, “I’m Dead, Serious” until late January 2012, but with the Holidays right around the corner, we figured everyone should have this new album.

When we get around to posting the pre-order for the vinyl, you will get a discount code for $5.00 off the vinyl in the event you want the record on vinyl.

What are you waiting for? Consider this an early entry for Album of the Year for 2012!!!

My Denver: 20 Questions For Lizzie Huffman [HUFFINGTON POST]

With a brand new album about to drop and a number of upcoming album release shows planned, Huffington Post sat down to interview Lizzie Huffman. Many of the questions center around Lizzie Huffman’s move to Denver (she has lived out here for 6 months now), her favorite restaurants, bars, places to play shows, etc. There are also questions about the new record, her songwriting process, and what’s in store for the future. It’s a really great interview.

My buddy Nate Gravina (and Killer Chef at the Lobby) just posted a blog reflecting on Suburban Home’s 16th Anniversary. I really enjoyed reading about how Nate first found out about Suburban Home and how he is still supportive and involved. Nate took care of us over the anniversary weekend by serving us a killer hangover brunch (Bananas Foster French Toast, Eggs, Bacon, and a few bloody maries). His restaurant will be celebrating their 2nd anniversary on Thursday. If you are around, please pay a visit. Lizzie Huffman and Bonnie and the Beard will both be playing.

Thanks Nate.
