Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground Daytrotter Session (4 songs FREE DOWNLOAD)
I feel that at this point, everyone on the planet knows about Daytrotter. The site is fantastic because on any given day of the week, you can download a free, 4 song EP by artists from all walks of life. The EPs are recorded at the Daytrotter Studio located in Rock Island, Illinois. The artwork is done by the Daytrotter artists. A lot of work is put into every session and it is just amazing to see the number of bands that have been involved throughout the past few years.
While I can go on and on about how great this site is, I will instead tell you to go and download Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground’s session that was posted on Saturday. Their 4 songs include 3 songs from their debut, self-titled album and 1 from their upcoming album, “Introducing”. It is very likely that if you are a Kay Kay fan, you are very familiar with these 4 songs, but regardless you need to download these songs. The versions are different enough from their original recordings. “Hey Momma”, for example, was performed in the manner that Kay Kay plays the song live complete with some Reggae influences and a kickass kazoo solo. This session was actually recorded right after Kay Kay did a tour with MeWithoutYou; it is so nice to finally hear these songs.
Please download this session and while you are at it, check out the hundreds of other sessions on the Daytrotter site. We are trying to get Look Mexico booked for a future session while out on this next tour; wish us luck.
Thanks Daytrotter!
