We are excited to announce that effective May 1st 2010, Interpunk.com will begin handling order fulfillment for Suburban Home Records and Vinyl Collective. More specifically, Interpunk will warehouse Suburban Home/Vinyl Collective releases, and handle shipping and customer service needs for all our online orders, as well as for stores and distributors.
This partnership with Interpunk will allow Suburban Home and Vinyl Collective to focus on putting out more quality releases, to focus on promoting Suburban Home Records, to dedicate more time to the Vinyl Cooperative, and to make the Vinyl Collective site fun again. While we have enjoyed handling our own mailorder, we also realize how much time will be freed up by having Interpunk handle this for us.
Suburban Home has been selling its releases to Interpunk for as long as we can remember. We have always held them in the highest regard as a retailer and a business partner. It just made so much sense to work more closely with them.
This announcement may have you asking more questions than were answered, but here are a few points worth noting:
- The Vinyl Collective Blog and Message Board will of course continue, and be more active than it has ever been.
- Suburban Home Records and Vinyl Collective will get back to focusing on what we do best… putting out fantastic releases!
- Any orders and pre-orders placed prior to Saturday, May 1st, 2010 on our web store will still be shipped by us.
- Starting May 1st, 2010, all orders and pre-orders should be placed directly at Interpunk.com. Orders can be placed 24 hours a day and will ship the same or next busines day. Most customer service issues can be handled yourself on Interpunk’s website, plus they are available to answer questions by phone Monday – Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time Zone.
We will provide direct links to our items in the Interpunk store on May 1st, 2010.
This is horrible news for international customers. Interpunk really overcharge for shipping.
I don’t often buy from VC but I NEVER buy from Interpunk (overpriced shipping being only one reason), so I’m afraid you’ve lost a little bit of business from over this side of the pond.

Personally, I always thought twice about ordering in (to UK) from US. It’s expensive anyway (though not unreasonable, it has to be expensive to send stuff, I understand that).
Question: what about existing orders? Still waiting on delivery of Austin Lucas silk-screened Somebody Loves You – is this in transit? Are Interpunk taking on existing orders?
