This album is a great great album, and a great intro to this fine band if you are unfamiliar. These guys all hail from punk rock backgrounds, with singer/guitarist Chad Price formerly fronting punk legends All, singer/guitarist Jon Snodgrass and drummer Paul Rucker from Armchair Martian, and bassist JJ Nobody from The Nobodys. But don’t think that means they are a punk band, they are not. Not anymore than Whiskeytown was anyway (’cause punk rock is too hard to sing…get it…). This album doesn’t sound like a live album at all…..only when the banter and crowd come in will you realize it was recorded live. Sounds like a studio album that is. Fans of Lucero, and Two Cow Garage, will especially like this, but I’m willing to bet these guys can cut a wide swath in their fan base, with Uncle Tupelo, (early) Old 97’s, DBT, and Bottle Rockets fans enjoying them as well. Hell just download it.
