It should go without saying that Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground are absolutely talented, but each member of the band are some of the most musically gifted folks I know. Seriously, it is crazy. We had a killer hang session after their in-store at Angelo’s and at some point in the night, everyone started passing around instruments and almost everyone took turns singing songs. It was out of control and one of the coolest nights I have had in ages. These two videos find Nate from Kay Kay warming up on the Accordion before their instore. Nate also plays bass for Kay Kay and later that night, he played a bunch of rad songs on acoustic guitar. I might also add that Nate was a big Fairlanes and Gamits fan growing up in Pocatello, Idaho.
The first video is of Nate doing the first ever (at least that I know of) Accordion Hip Hop Jam (not sure if this is a cover or an original, but it rules). The second video is Nate rocking out the music from Tetris. After watching these videos, I am certain that the Accordion is an underrated instrument.
