I had hinted in last week’s newsletter about a possible party bus that would take us drunks to the shows. I have more information and have a request if you are interested in a spot. Understand that I have been working on transportation to the shows so that the people flying from out of state and out of the country can have a safe way to get to the shows and still drink.
For Thursday’s show in Colorado Springs, we are working with PBR (yes that PBR) to charter a Greyhound bus that will pick folks up at 3 Kings Tavern, take them to the Triple Nickel in Colorado Springs, and then take people back to 3 Kings after the show. The bus will hold 47 passengers, but at this point, we are waiting from the OK from the bigwigs at PBR. If this works out, PBR will be giving us beer to drink on the way down and the way back. I should know by next week. If this doesn’t pan out, I have spoke to Matt from Ghost Buffalo about driving out of towners to the Springs show and back for a small charge.
For Saturday Night’s show, I have worked something out with the good people at Oskar Blues’ brewery. They have a much smaller bus(only 16 passengers), but their plan is to pick us up at 3 Kings Tavern at noon, take us to their brewery/restaurant where we will have lunch and do a brewery tour (with lots of beer sampling), the bus will then take us to either the New Belgium brewery or the Odell’s brewery. And from there, it will take us to downtown Ft Collins where I suggest everyone stay at the Best Western that is walking distance to the Aggie. I actually have a block of rooms and a discount. Just call (970) 484-1984 and ask for the Drag the River discounted rooms which will get you a room with 2 beds for $64. I recommend everyone take a disco nap, get a bite to eat, and then rock the show in Ft Collins. For those of you not on the bus though, you are more than welcome to caravan with us and do all the things we have planned. I will arrange to have a van take those of us who were in the bus back to Denver the next day.
These details are still being worked out, but if you are interested in a spot on either or both buses, please email me even if we have been talking over email. In the subject, please put DRAG THE RIVER PARTY BUS.
I am working on a page on the site that will contain lots of other fun things to see and do while in Colorado although nothing will beat going to the Drag the River shows and getting drunk.
