Suburban Home Adopts Two Cow Garage

We are proud to announce that Suburban Home has adopted an incredible band. The band is called Two Cow Garage and they call Columbus, Ohio, home. We first heard about the band when Drag the River’s Jon Snodgrass told me to check them out. Drag the River had played a bunch of shows with them and Jon considers them all to be brothers. He told me that I should look into releasing their latest album on Suburban Home. After speaking to Chris Flint, the band’s manager, we came to an arrangement whereby we would distribute the band’s upcoming album which would come out on their own label, Shelterhouse. We recently got copies of the new album in at Suburban Home and from the first second I put the CD in my car, I was hooked. I have not stopped listening to it since receiving it two weeks ago. The band reminds me of a rocking mix of Lucero, Drive By Truckers, and Drag the River. I thought about what I could do to help the band spread the word as I truly believe in this band’s greatness and it came to me. Why not adopt the band as one of my own? Has a label ever done this? I am not sure, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought it was the perfect solution.

What exactly does it mean to adopt a band? Well, I plan to treat the band and their upcoming album, “III”, as if they were on Suburban Home. We will soon post the band in our band’s section, post a couple songs as mp3s, post their tour dates, and will soon be streaming their new album in our Listening Station.  We just want to help out where we can and hopefully get some new fans for the band in the process.

I am glad to welcome Two Cow Garage to the family and hope that everyone of you take a second to check them out. The band is currently streaming their album on their website and you can check out tracks and tour dates on their myspace page. If you only have a couple of minutes to do this, make sure you listen to “The Great Gravitron Massacre” which is on both their Myspace page and their website. It might be the catchiest song I have heard in ages.

Good move for Suburban. They may be America’s most unknown favorite band.

Saw them last week in Chicago without their drummer and they still pulled it off. Great songs! Hope they regroup quickly and make it up to NYC sometime soon.
