Definitely one of the weirdest things I have experienced in some time is hearing Love Me Destroyer’s “The Things Around Us Burn” on our local commercial radio station, KTCL. I would have never guessed that commercial radio would ever consider the music we put out worthy of putting on the airwaves but to be honest, the song sounded like it belongs on the radio. The song sounds so good on the radio. The song is a bit heavy for commercial radio, but Scooter and company have always written big hooks and the song doesn’t sound out of place at all. You can still vote for Love Me Destroyer by going to the KTCL site and rating the 10 finalists. Please take the time and give Love Me Destroyer a kick ass rating so that they get regular rotation on KTCL.
What makes this seem weird for me, I guess, is the fact that just a few years ago, the KTCL music directors said that the Gamits weren’t catchy enough to be played on the radio.
