Suburban Home can use your help with our free Samplers!

When I first got into punk rock, what really drew me into “the Scene” was the Do It Yourself ethic utilized by indie labels and underground bands. I guess you could say that it blew me away to know that after as how, I could walk up to the band and have a conversation with them, that I could send $8.00 to a label like Lookout records and get a CD mailed to me. I think that labels these days have really gotten away from that. They are more concerned about soundscan reports, billboard charts, and endcapping at chain stores. With everything we do at Suburban Home, I plan to use some of the things that I learned when I first got into independent music.

Sorry about the long introduction, but I could use your help. If you are a fan of Drag the River, Tim Barry, and/or Ghost Buffalo, there is something you can do to help us out. We made some samplers (pictured above) that feature 2 songs by Tim, 4 songs by Drag, and 2 song by Ghost Buffalo.  We are asking fans of the bands that are interested to email info@suburbanhomerecords.com your full name and mailing address. We want to send 500 fans each 5 copies of the sampler and we ask that you please give them out to people who you think might enjoy the music. Tim and Drag have new records in store November 21st and we are hoping that this will make a big difference. As a small label, we have limited resources as to how we spread the word about our music, but we do have a great network of friends and fans. I figured that is better than spending money in a big corporate magazine that wouldn’t care about our releases anyway.

If you can help that would be amazing!
