We are so excited to share with you the fact that we will be re-releasing Drag the River’s first album, Hobo’s Demos. This is the record that turned me into a country fan and opened my eyes to the fact that there was more to country than the Boot Scoot Boogie. This album represents some of Jon Snodgrass and Chad Price’s first dabblings into country music and the songs were just so good that they had to get the band off and running. Lucky for all of us that these dabblings worked. The re-release will contain 1 bonus song, Nerve Endings, a Chad Rex diamond in the rough that was always meant to be re-recorded, but will be added in its original inebriated state. Also new to the re-release is the addition of the drag trademark all-in-one jukebox track which will allow those to select the album at their favorite dive bar and play the entire album for one credit! The artwork will be changed a little bit and the entire record will be remastered.
Hobo’s Demos re-release will be in stores on November 21st! Expect re-releases of Chicken Demos and Closed in 2007!

This is exciting news. I first heard some of these tracks (as well as several that appear on Chicken Demos) 4-5 years ago, after receiving a duped CD-R through a friend of a friend of a friend (etc.). I was absolutely floored, and Drag the River’s records haven’t left my regular circulation since then. Glad to see them finally getting some much-deserved notoriety.
