Muzzle of Bees were kind enough to post news of a new Lucero album as well as an MP3 earlier this week. Check out the song because it smokes! I wrote Muzzle of Bees thanking them for posting an mp3 and in the email, I asked them to check out a couple of Drag the River mp3s. He not only checked it out but wrote me back immediately saying that he dug the songs and that he would post something on Drag in a few days.
Check out the post and if you haven’t checked out the mp3s, stop what you are doing, turn up your speakers, and listen to them about a million times. Then buy the album!!!!!
I have always written the Format off as a Jimmy Eat World wannabe, but with the release of “Dog Problems”, that has all changed. This album is pop-perfection and deserves your attention. The band channeled their inner Queen and threw out the typical song-writing formula to bring you something that should stand the test of time. So good!
This is the beginning of what will become a brand new Suburban Home site. Will anyone ever see this? Maybe not. I have a lot of great ideas for what I think should go into a label site and if things go as planned, we will be able to share those ideas with you. I think most labels are guilty of running their companies like they think the bigger labels run them, but I hope to turn that notion on its head. I realized that we at Suburban Home are fun, lively people with personalities and passions. Why not share that with all of you? There are enough boring cookie cutter sites and labels out there and it is time to share with you the whole reason I do what I do. If anyone ever has any ideas, please post a comment. In the end, I want the site to become somewhere you enjoy stopping by. Thanks.
